بدر مجد هل أم بدر سما
أشرقت منه تهاني الأنفس
Is it a moon of glory or a rising moon?
From it, the souls' congratulations shone.
أم ضيا نجم من الشهب سما
في ربي العلياء شهب الأطلس
Or is it a star that rose high
In my sublime Lord, the stars of Atlas?
كلل البشر أزاهير الثغور
بندى الأفراح وازداد الهنا
People adorned the borders with flowers of joy
The bliss increased and delight overflowed
وقد افترت من المجد الثغور
عندما اشرق مصباح السنا
The borders boasted with glory
When the lantern of splendor shone
وتبدت من صبا نشر الزهور
في رياض العز أرواح المنى
And from the morning, the blossoms appeared
In the meadows of dignity, the souls of wishes
غنت الأطيار لما بسما
طالع البشرى بثغر العس
The birds sang when it rose
The good news smiled from the horizon’s mouth
وعلى كاس الصفا قد نظما
حبب الآمال فاطرب واحتس
And on the cup of clearness it composed
The hopes' beloved so it rejoiced and cheered
يا نديمي قم بنا نحو الرياض
نغتنم طيب أويقات النجاح
My friend, rise, let’s go to the gardens
Let’s seize the good times of success
فغدير الانس باللذات فاض
وتبدى كوكب الصبح ولاح
For the stream of sociability overflowed
And the morning star appeared and shone
وشدا القمري على دوح الغياض
يا ندامى الا من حيوا باصطباح
And the full moon leaned on the hill of meadows
O my friends, only those who lived in the morning thrived
وانضوا صبح الحميا نجما
من سنا مشرق صافي الأكؤس
And mingled with the wine of the first down
That cupbearer with the soul’s musk
وبافق الراح أبدت انجما
من ضيا بهجتها الضؤ كسي
It emerged, it appeared on the throne of joy
The daughter of generosity, so it showed wonder
خمرة اضحى لها البدر مدير
بين ندمان التصابي والطرب
She molded the elixir of joy with generosity
Thus, when I saw it, I saw the flame in it
فاطرح الاوهام يا خير سمير
واقتبس من حانها نور الحبيب
Whoever threw a dirham on her path of glory
Saw it as gold when looking back
واجلوا كاسا من يد الظبي الغرير
واطرح عنك علاقات الكرب
The sanctity of nobility a cup when
It appeared like a ray of amber
تحظ بالنشأة بين الندما
كلما هبت رياح القدس
And it poured wisdom on the companionship
That no one else attained blindly
وامزج الاقداح من خمر لمى
ذلك الساقي بمسك النفس
It rose from the tower of glory like
A bride with her veil in her hands
برزت تجلى على عرش الفرح
بنت كرم فأرتنا العجب
And it perfumed the heart with the scent of basil
When the fragrance of its perfume wafted
سبكت بالدن اكسير الفرح
فلذا شاهدت فيه اللهب
Its rose heals the anguish of passions
By sipping the honey from its moons
من رمى فوق قناطير الترح
درهما منه راءه ذهب
It intoxicated me with the fervor of its mouth
A lip gives smooth sweet honey
قدس الاشراف جاما عندما
ظهرت مثل شعاع القبس
The lovers became captivated by it
Since it unsheathed a sword from the kohl-lined eyelid
وعلى الصحب أفاضت حكما
لم ينلها أحد بالهوس
And when it ruled with eyes heavy with sleep
It took the souls and hearts with fever
بزغت من برج دن بهج
كعروس في يدي خمارها
Dividing that it would not settle in others
O God, protect the bending branches
وصبا القلب بطيب الأرج
حينما فاح شذا عطارها
Which its shining smile illuminated
Its wind stirred me when it blew
وردها يشفي غليل المهج
لارتشاف الشهد من أقمارها
From the meadows of that matchless prairie
The Almighty endowed it with clouds that intended
فز بها من كف ساق علما
يانع الأغصان حسن الميس
Like the hands of the Praised, the Guiding Lord
منح الصب غراما حينما
صب يسقي بالجواري الكنس
It revived generosity with determination
And defeated poverty and injustice
عاطنيها يا ابن ودي قرقفا
ينسخ الليل ضيا نبراسها
And it revived poetry after it
Was like withered hay
قهوة من ذاقها نال الشفا
وتغنى من صبا أنفاسها
The best bold lion prevailed in his determination
And rose resolutely to the summit of heights
انست قلب نديم قد صفا
مذ تجلت وانجلت في كاسها
With the meteors of fortune from his firmware
The night of misfortune disappeared from us
قم لدى مشهدها واغتنما
نفحة العرف بجنح الغلس
The cattle in its meadows, between justice and attainment
Became streams flowing amid pastures
وادر خمر شهود عصما
نيله عن كل فكر دنس
And it built solid glory
With foundations that cannot crumble
وبروحي خير ساق عدلا
فرشفنا من ثناياه الزلال
And the full moon wore the crown of perfection
With the surplus of generosity and forbearance
ناشدتنا مقلتاه غزلا
يخطف الالباب بالسحر الحلال
A lion feared by the evildoers' lions
If the sword of the right appeared in its grip
خلته لما تثنى ميلا
خوط بان فوقه لاح الهلال
And if it shook its blond forelocks
And clad the earth in a robe of purple
ضمن الياقوت والدر فما
ضمهُ أبهى عذار سندسي
Fearful to those who strayed from the covenant of truth
And refuge for those seeking safety
هتكت وجنتهُ الورد كما
فتكت مقلتهُ بالنرجس
Time taught to respect the lives
And passed like wedding nights
رشأٌ سار بداجي شعرهِ
يستضي من طلعة الوجه الجميل
And it poured blessings on the clouds
Understanding from its floods the clear water
أسكرتنا من حميا ثغرهِ
شفة تعطي رحيقاً سلسبيل
Master of glory and determination
So the era became proud of it
أصبحت أهل الهوى في أسره
مذ نضا سيفاً من الجفن الكحيل
Whoever saw that glory and manners
Said this is a king amongst people
وعلى العشاق لما حكما
صال فيهم بالعيون النعس
It crowned the supreme with a band of wisdom
So it became glorious with those pearls
أخذ المهجة والقلب حمى
مقسماً في غيرهم لم يكنسِ
When he was generous, he made eras
Like a hand in which lay the misery of poverty
يا رعى اللَه ثنياتٍ زهت
بسنا برق محيّاهُ المنير
Or you would see it have patience for enemies
Whose eyelids were wounded by drowsiness
هيجتني ريحها لما سرت
من صحارى ذلك المرج النضير
It established glory with the wings of Saud
The best cubs of the hoped for lions
جادها المولى بسحبٍ قد همت
كأيادي الماجد المولى البشير
Each cub of theirs meets the lions
Divide the enemies when war emerges
من بهامي البذل أحيى الكرما
وأمات الفقر والظلم المسي
And the pillar of generosity, secure of existence
With the trusted overflowing virtue
وأعاد الشعر حيّاً بعد ما
كان قبلاً كالهشيم اليبس
If you gain access to the land
You see generosity like full moons in chests
خير شهمٍ ساد في همتهِ
وعلا حزماً على أوج العلى
And with Mahmoud's congratulations it sang
The bird of joys, live and feast
بشهاب السعد من غرّتهِ
زال ليل الخطيب عنا وانجلى
O the happy newborn
Informing the cradle of a happy ancestor
أصبح الأنعام في روضتهِ
بين عدلٍ ونوالٍ جدولا
The moons became guided by it
And for it they made a unique necklace
وبنى للمجد عزّاً محكماً
ثابت التأسيس لم يندرسِ
The Pisces called to the fresh garden
If only I were a soft cradle for it
واكتسى بدر كمال رقما
بثنا فضلٍ وحلمٍ أنفس
Those meadows became fertile by its worries
أسدٌ تخشاه آساد الشرى
إن بدا في كفه السيف اليمان
And prideful with the intimate prince
And it rejoiced when he set foot
وإذا هز كعوبا اسمرا
وشح الأرض بثوب الأرجوان
And fulfilled the best prayer honestly
A moon rose in the Sa’d family
هول من عن معهد الحق جرى
وملاذ للذي يبغي الأمان
So the universe was illuminated by the brilliant comet
For it, when it shone
علم الأيام ترعى الذمما
فاتت مثل ليالي العرس
From Majd’s friend, the formidable of might
It took the throne, a throne embellished
وعلى السحب افاض النعما
فهمت في سيلها المنبجس
With the beauty of praised perfect traits
Mahmoud came with ideal traits thus it grew
سيد حاز المعالي والهمم
فتسامى العصر فيه وافتخر
Attaining with God a good upbringing
And God clothed it in an embroidered gown
من رأى تلك المعالي والشيم
قال هذا ملك بين البشر
The gown of protection, it is the most beautiful dress
O Prince prevailings in his rulings
طوّق العلياء عقدا من حكم
فغدت تزهو بهاتيك الدرر
You congratulate on the most honorable grandson
Increase through him and his uncles
ماجد ان جاد خلت الديما
بيد فيها غناء البئس
His father and sons, prosperity
The Gentle granted you in His gifts
أو ترأى للأعادي حلما
قرّحت أجفانها بالنعس
The lasting security and long survival
And you see them as the best ancestors and what
شيد العز بانجال السعود
خير أشبال كرام المنتشى
They sired dressed with praise
May God increase your moons whenever
كل شبل منهم يلقى الأسود
قاسم الأعدا إذا الحرب نشا
A moon appears in the horizons of splendor
Mahmoud came attaining with God a good upbringing
وخليل الجود ميمون الوجود
بأمين الفضل حدث ما تشا
Wearing a robe tailored and perfect
O Prince who prevailed with wisdom
إن تفز بالربع تنظر كرما
كبدور في صدور المجلس
Rejoice in the most virtuous grandson
Increase through him, his uncles and father
وبمحمود التهاني رنما
بلبل الأفراح عش وافترس
And sons more brilliance
The Gentle granted you in His gifts
يا لمولود سعيد المولد
مخبر بالمهد عن جد سعيد
With lasting security and prolonged survival
And you see them as the best forefathers and none
أضحت الأقمار فيه تهتدي
وله قد جعلت عقدا فريد
Begot better, dressed with glory
The star rose in the Sa'd house
نادت الجوزاء بالروض الندي
ليتني كنت له مهدا نضيد

واتعزت بالأمير المؤنس

وكساه الله ثوبا معلما
ثوب حفظ فهو ابهى ملبس
Begot better, adorned with glory
يا أميرا ساد في أحكامه
تتهنى بحفيد أشرفا
دم وزد فيه وفي أعمامه
وأبيه وبنيهم رونقا
جادكم ذو اللطف في أنعامه
بدوام الأمن مع طول البقا
وتراهم خير أجداد وما
أنجبوه بثناء مكتسي
زادك الله حبورا كلما
لاح بدر في دياجي الحندس
