1. قالَ ثَوبُ الشُجاعِ وَهوَ جَميلٌ

    تَعشَقُ العَينُ نَظرَةً مِنهُ عِشقا

    The robe of the valiant, and it is fair

    The eye desires a glance from it, love

  2. صِرتُ في فَروَةِ النُمَيرِيِّ سُحقاً

    لَيتَني لا عَدِمتُ مَرضاً وَحَدقا

    I became on the fringe of al-Numayri shredded

    If only I was not missing an illness and pupil

  3. لَو أَرادَ الزَمانُ يَعظِمُ قَدري

    لَم يَدَعني عَلى الزِبالَةِ مُلقى

    If time wanted to magnify my worth

    It would not have left me discarded on the rubbish
