عرّجْ بطُوَيْلِعٍ فلي ثَمّ هُوَيّ
واذْكُر خَبَرَ الغَرام واسنِدْهُ إليّ
Turn aside at Ṭuwayliʿ—for there I have a tender love.
Tell the tale of consuming love, and ascribe it to me.
واقْصُصْ قِصَصي عليهِمْ وابك عَلَيّ
قُلْ مات ولم يحظَ من الوَصْلِ بشَيْ
Recount my story to him, and weep for me.
Say: “He died without attaining the least share of union.”
