خيَّب اللهُ سَعيَ أَوفى بنِ حصنٍ

حينَ أضحى فَرّوجَةَ الرقَّاءِ

May Allah foil the effort of Awf, son of Hosn,

When he turned the women of Ruqqa into merchandise.

قادَهُ الحَينَ والشقاءُ إلى لي

ث عرين وحيَّةٍ صَمَّاءِ

Misery and misfortune led him to the lair

Of a deaf viper and a blind serpent.
