أَبناءُ عَمروٍ لَفي خَفضٍ وَفي دَعَةٍ

وَفي عَطاءٍ لَعَمري غَيرِ مَمنوعِ

Sons of Amr are in humility, kindness

And in generosity, by my life, unforbidden!

وَضَيفُ عَمروٍ وَعَمروٌ سَاهِرانِ مَعاً

عَمروٌ لَبِطنَتِهِ وَالضَيفُ لِلجوعِ

A guest of Amr and Amr keeping vigil together

Amr for his belly and the guest for hunger
