كَيفَ يَبكي لِمِحبَسٍ في طُلولِ
مَن سَيَقضي لِحَبسِ يَومٍ طَويلِ
How can one weep for a halting-place among ruins—
one who will spend a long day in confinement?
إِنَّ في الحَشرِ وَالحِسابِ لَشُغلاً
عَن وُقوفٍ بِكُلِّ رَسمٍ مُحيلِ
Surely the Gathering and the Reckoning distract one
from standing at every weathered trace.
