1. O offspring of the Zanj, your affliction has lasted long,

and both your front and rear have fared badly.

  2. You fuck and seek to be fucked; neither this

nor that, when you combine them, has a cure.

  3. You wept over Kindīr after his departure;

and can weeping avail against war?

  4. So tell me, for you have been deprived of years,

and of Kindīr, the least of the youths you desire.

  5. Chasing every cock is occupation enough;

an incurable disease has struck you in your ass.

  6. Is there not, in poor dates and gleaned date pits,

and dung pellets you gather, some consolation?

  7. You distract the date-eater, seeking sustenance,

and come away empty-handed when the herdsmen hear you.

  8. And I have knowledge of your vile father,

and of a mother whose youthful vigor ran wild.

  9. Your father, when he goes out in the morning, is a privy pig,

and your mother is a bitch full of obscenity.

  10. So what comes to you from this one and that,

when they unite and the open space enfolds them?

  11. Indeed, the man base in paternal descent from of old,

and in his mothers, when women are mentioned,

  12. is the offspring of a pig and a dog,

who thinks cock-heads are a cure for him.

  13. O offspring of the Zanj, how did you utter my name,

when you are effeminate, with crookedness in you?

  14. You consented to be fucked, though a father of daughters,

and a father who is fucked has no shame.

  15. And against a mother and a sister have stood

    witnesses, when fornication befell her.

  16. When Ḥushayshah is fucked, a rooster crows,

and a parrot cries out in your mother's ass.

  17. So leave off insulting the noble: there is amusement in it,

but its aftermath is distress and disease.

  18. Your mother has a place to be laid in every quarter,

and Khushshah's concern is the fee for hiring you.

  19. And Ghanī has traded in your sister,

so the traders did not lose, nor did they do badly.

  20. They gained a marriage tie to a bastard Zanj,

through a woman with a white-blotched perineum, afflicted with wasting sickness.

  21. So the girl of Banū Ghanī did not rejoice,

nor did the Zanj man; indeed, the two are alike.
