مِنَ المَشهورِ بِالحُبِّ
إِلى قاسِيَةِ القَلبِ
From the famously loving
To the hardhearted
سَلامُ اللَهِ ذي العَرشِ
عَلى وَجهِكِ يا حِبّي
May Allah's peace be upon you,
O the face of my love
فَأَمّا بَعدُ يا قُرَّ
ةَ عَيني وَمُنى قَلبي
Now then, O comfort
Of my eyes and wish of my heart
وَيا نَفسي الَّتي تَسكُ
بُ كُنُ بَينَ الجَنبِ وَالجَنبِ
And O my soul that dwells
Quietly between my ribs
لَقَد أَنكَرتُ يا عَبدَ
جَفاءً مِنكِ في الكُتبِ
Indeed I denied, O servant
Your harshness in books
أَعَن ذَنبٍ وَلا وَاللَهِ
ما أَحدَثتُ مِن ذَنبِ
For no sin, no, by Allah
I have not committed any sin
وَلا وَاللَهِ ما في الشَر
قِ مِن أُنثى وَلا الغَربِ
No, by Allah, in the East
Or the West there is no maiden except you
سِواكِ اليَومَ أَهواها
عَلى جِدٍّ وَلا لِعبِ
Whom I love today truly
Not jokingly or falsely
