1. تَبوحُ بِسِرِّكَ ضيقاً بِهِ

    وَتَبغي لِسِرِّكَ مَن يَكتُمُ

    You confide your secret though it troubles you,

    And seek for your secret one who will keep it hidden.

  2. وَكِتمانُكَ السِرَّ عَمّن تَخافُ

    وَمَن لا تَخَوَّفُهُ أَحزَمُ

    Yet keeping your secret from those you fear

    Is wiser than one whom you do not suspect.

  3. إِذا ضاعَ سِرُّكَ مِن مُخبِرٍ

    فَأَنتَ إِذا لُمتَهُ أَلوَمُ

    If your secret is lost through one you told it to,

    You, not he, will be the one blamed.
