فَلا تَبعُد فَكُلُّ فَتىً سَيَأتي
عَليهِ المَوتُ يَطرُقُ أَو يُغادي
So do not go far; death will come upon
Every youth, creeping up or at full speed,
وَكُلُّ ذَخيَرةٍ لا بُدَّ يَوماً
وَإِن بَقِيَتُ تَصيرُ إِلى نَفادِ
And every treasure will one day run out,
Though it remain, to depletion it leads,
وَلَو يَفدي مِنَ الحَدَثانِ شَيءٌ
فَدَيتُكَ بِالطَريفِ وَبِالتِلادِ
And if anything could stave off what is new
For your sake, I'd pay with the fresh and green.
