Say to my love, bring me near
You are my soul and my life
And my concerns when I flee
And my words in my prayers
Love, stinginess is surely an evil
Not the way of the generous
So join me or leave me
As fuel for visitors
Love, if you wished we'd meet
Before death in gathering
And we'd live, you'd enliven us
With whispers and murmurs
I've shown patience but my patience
Is not everlasting
And I remembered you alive
So my tears flowed freely
And I forgot to forget
So sleep overcame me
And death's angel appeared
To overwhelm me, take me
My love has bewitched me
With wishes and promises
With favors and talk
Like the blossoming of plants
She has an eye and a lip
Of the greatest temptations
Beauty and charm
Like the charm of maidens
I'm one who God has tormented
With my love and the slanderers
So for my love is my lament
And to God are my complaints
