في الفَتى الزِنجِيِّ مِنهُ شَبَهٌ
غَيرَ أَنَّ الزِقَّ أَذكى وَأَرَق
In the Zanj youth there is a resemblance to him,
Except that the wineskin is cleverer and more delicate.
فَاِنقَضى ذاكَ وَكانَت شِرَّتي
مِثلَ ما كانَ ذُبالٌ فَاِحتَرَق
Then that ended, and my ardor was
