She prays at forenoon while we are apart; by evening, we meet.
To clasp our two free hands in affection.
If an intention has carried Ṣafrāʾ far away,
And her patron has grown attentive, harboring a grudge,
Then tell her: peace and mercy from me.
And ask the Doer what she has done since I left.
May God rebuke those who reproached me for loving her,
For destiny had already come first in my heart and mind.
