One day, a cloud from you cast its shade over us.
A cloud from you shadowed us one day,
It flashed lightning for us, and its drizzle was slow to come.
It lightened for us with lightning, yet held back its rain,
So its cloud-cover neither clears to make the hopeful despair,
So its gloom does not clear for one in hope to despair,
Nor does its rain come to quench its thirsty ones.
Nor does its rain come to quench the thirst.
