زِيادَةُ طَوْرِ المَرءِ عن حَدِّهِ نَقْصُ

وخَيرُ طَريقِ المَرءِ ما مَهَّدَ النَّصُّ

Overstepping the limit diminishes one

The best path for a person is that laid out clearly

ولله في طَيِّ العِنايَةِ رَحْمَةٌ

يَغيثُ بها بَعضَ العِبادِ ويَخْتَصُّ

And God has mercy in the folds of providence

With which He relieves some servants and distinguishes others

وأحْسَنُ زادِ المَرءِ من عُمْرِهِ التُّقى

إذا كانََ في فِعْلِ الجَميلِ لهُ حِرْصُ

And the best provision of a person from his lifetime is piety

If he is keen to do good
