تحلَّ بالصدقِ واذْكُرْ خاشِعاً وأَمِطْ

عن الفُؤادِ حِجابَ الوهمِ بالأَدَبِ

Embrace sincerity and remember humbly

Remove from the heart the veil of illusion with etiquette

وسلِّمِ الأمرَ الرَّحمنِ متَّكِلاً

عليه وهو الكَريمُ الفارِجُ الكُرَبِ

Surrender the matter to the Merciful, relying

Upon Him, for He is The Bountiful, The Reliever of distress

واسْلكْ إِليهِ سَبيلَ المتَّقينَ بلا

زَيْغٍ وصحِّحْ سبيلَ القصدِ بالطَّلَبِ

And take to Him the path of the reverent without

Deviation; correct the course of purpose with seeking

وخُذْ إِمامَ الهُدى في كلِّ نازِلَةٍ

دِرعاً حَصيناً لدفْعِ الشَّكِّ والرِّيبِ

And take the Imam of guidance in every situation

As an impenetrable shield against doubts and suspicions

واعملْ بنُصحِ كتابِ اللهِ معتَقِداً

نُصوصَهُ فهو حقًّا أَشرَفُ الكُتُبِ

And act with the advice of Allah’s Book, believing

Its texts, for it is truly the noblest of books

وتابِعِ الآلَ والأَصحابَ إِنَّ لهم

المُصْطَفى سبَباً ناهيكَ من سَبَبِ

And follow the Family and Companions, for they

Have ties to Al-Mustafa, not to mention causation

وخلِّ عنك الهَوَى واهْجُرْ مَواطِنَهُ

وخُذْ بشرعِ الحَبيبِ المُصْطَفى وطِبِ

And rid yourself of desire and abandon its domains

And take to the Law of the Beloved Chosen One and be content

واسلكْ طريقَ شيخِ المتَّقينَ أَبي ال

عبَّاسِ شيخِ العُرَيْجا الطَّاهِرِ النَّسَبِ

And take the path of the Shaykh of the reverent, my father

Al-‘Abbas, Shaykh of Al-‘Urayja, the pure lineage

فضمنَ مِنهاجِهِ علمٌ ومعرِفَةٌ

وسيرُ قلبٍ لرَبِّي غيرِ مُنْقَلِبِ

For within his curriculum is knowledge and cognition

And travel of a heart to my Lord without fluctuation

وخَشيةٌ وانْكِسارٌ واتِّصالُ يدٍ

بالهاشِمِيِّ إِمامِ العُجْمِ والعَرَبِ

And humility, brokenness, and connection of a hand

To the Hashimite, Imam of non-Arabs and Arabs

خُذْها نصيحةَ شيخٍ رَبِّ تجربَةٍ

خافَ الذَّهابَ ولم يلفِتْ إِلى الذَّهَبِ

Take the advice of a Shaykh whose Lord tried him

Who feared loss and did not covet gold

واجمعْ فُؤادَكَ واستَكْنِهْ حَقائقَها

واطرَحْ لنيلِ المُنى تأْويلَ كلِّ غَبي

And gather your heart and acquaint it with its truths

And relinquish interpreting all nonsense to attain wishes

فمن أَرادَ له الرَّحمنُ منزلَةً

زوَى الوُجودَ فلم يحضَرْ ولم يَغِبِ

For whomever the Merciful desired an ascension

He rolled out existence so he was neither present nor absent

يقومُ بالوجدِ والأَشواقُ تلفَحُهُ

ضمن الجَوانِحِ طيَّ اللَّيلِ باللَّهَبِ

He rises with fervor and yearning inflames him

Among his feelings during the night with flames

حتَّى إذا ما سَقاهُ الوَصْلَ ماطِرَةً

بيضاءُ سَحَّتْ كسَحِّ السَّيلِ للعشبِ

Until when the connection quenched him with a pouring

White rain poured like the pouring of floods on grass

وأَيقَظَتْهُ يدُ التَّوفيقِ من سِنَةٍ

ومزَّقَتْ عنه ما أَقصاهُ من حُجُبِ

And the hand of success awakened him from slumber

And tore away from him the veil of whatever curtains

بكَى وأَنَّ وضاءَتْ أَرضُ نِيَّتِهِ

كما أَضاءَتْ سماءُ الكونِ بالشُّهُبِ

He wept, moaned, and the earth of his intention shone

As the heavens shone with shooting stars

وراحَ بالعزمِ لا ينفَكُّ مُعْتَمِداً

على الكَريمِ صَحيحَ القصدِ والأَرَبِ

And set out determined, unrelentingly relying

On The Bountiful, proper of purpose and cultured

كذاكَ من طهَّرَ الرَّحمنُ نِيَّتَهُ

يتوبُ إِلاَّ عن المَحْبوبِ لم يَتُبِ

Likewise, those whose intentions are purified by The Merciful

Will never repent except to the Beloved, never to repent
