1. تطوفُ بساحاتِ القُلُوبِ عجائبٌ

    فللَّه مِنْ أَسرارِ تلك العَجائبِ

    Wonders roam the domains of hearts,

    By God, the secrets of those wonders!

  2. يقومُ على بُسطِ الخَفا مثل حاضِرٍ

    رَفيعُ التَّدلِّي وهو أَبعَدُ غائِبِ

    He stands upon the carpets of the unseen as if present,

    Lofty is his connection, though most absent.

  3. ويفعَلُ ما لا يفعلُ الحاضِرُ الذي

    رَمَنْهُ العُلى عن قُعْسِ تلك المَراتِبِ

    He does what the present one does not do,

    Whom the Most High has hindered from those ranks’ narrow passes.

  4. كأنَّ شُؤُن الغيبِ حَصراً جسامُها

    لآلِ عليٍّ من لؤيٍّ ابنِ غالِبِ

    As if the affairs of the unseen were dedicated to

    The Household of Ali, of the visions of the son of Galib.

  5. وفي الغُرِّ من آلِ الحُسينِ فُنونُها

    ومنصِبُهُمْ فيها أَعزُّ المَناصِبِ

    And in the Ghorr, from the Household of al-Husayn, are their arts,

    And their position among them is the most honorable of positions.

  6. ومنهُمْ بأَبناءِ الرِّفاعِيِّ أُودِعَتْ

    طرائقُها مَحفوفةً بالمواهِبِ

    Through them, by the sons of al-Rifa‘i,

    Its ways were entrusted, surrounded by gifts.

  7. هم النَّفَرُ الزُّهرُ الذين تسلَّقوا

    بهمَّتِهِمْ هاماتِ زُهْرِ الكواكِبِ

    They are the select elite, who have climbed

    With their resolve the summits of the stars’ blossoms.

  8. وفيهم بنو الصَّيَّادِ أقمارُ بيتِهم

    ففي الشَّرقِ هم أَعيانُها والمَغارِبِ

    And among them are the Banu al-Sayyad, moons of their house,

    They are its notables in the East and the West.

  9. أمَّا هو جدُّهمْ طِلْسَمُ العَبا

    وكَنزُ فُهومٍ صَيِّناتِ المَضارِبِ

    As for him, their grandfather is the talisman of glory,

    And treasure of understandings, the mines of largesse.

  10. إِمامٌ على مِضْمارِ آثارِ جدِّه

    بشقِّ الغُبارِ اخْتارَ أَعلى المَذاهِبِ

    An imam in the racecourse of his grandfather’s tracks,

    Cleaving the clouds of dust, he chose the highest creed.

  11. طوَى قلبُهُ آياتِ علمٍ خفيَّةً

    كثيرةَ فضلٍ أَعجزَتْ كلَّ حاسِبِ

    His heart folded the arcane verses of knowledge,

    Abundant in merit, that exhausted every auditor.

  12. أَعاجِمُ أهلِ الحالِ طافَتْ ببابِهِ

    وفاضَتْ أَيادي برِّهِ للأَعارِبِ

    The non-Arabs of the folk circled his door,

    And the outpouring of his goodness overflowed to non-Arabs.

  13. وسحَّ على الأَقوامِ وابِلُ فيضِهِ

    أَباعدِهِمْ في نهجِهِمْ والأقارِبِ

    And he poured upon the people torrents of his overflowing rain,

    Whether far or near in their paths.

  14. مَكِينٌ أَمينٌ صادِقُ الوعدِ سيِّدٌ

    جليلٌ عَظيمُ الشَّأنِ عذبُ المَشارِبِ

    Secure, trusted, truthful in his promise, a lord

    Great and mighty in rank, sweet to partake.

  15. أَتيناهُ نستَسْقي نَوالَ جَنابِهِ

    ففاضَ وعمَّ الفيضُ كُلَّ الجَوانِبِ

    We came to him to beg a drink from his fresh water,

    So it gushed forth, and its abundance encompassed all sides.
