The fragrance of incense spread from Mitkin,
Igniting the sorrow in my grieving heart,
And the morning breeze renewed its purity
From the open plains of the mighty hunter.
It spread the musk from the flasks of Tayy
Secured by the realities of perfection.
And a breeze from it stirred the hearts
Shaking all firm resolve with kindness.
O you, beauty of Mitkin, it has appeared
As the standing of the lovesick at Tibreen.
Let us hear the praise poems of Ibn Rifa'i
The lion of the cave, grandson of the People of the Cloak.
The tablet of the secrets of realities
Flowing from the protected, trustworthy unseen.
Grandson of the Sheikh of Arajaa, spirit of meanings
Among the children of Al-Murtada, stars of certainty.
Imam As-Sajjad from the family of generosity
Adornment of worshippers, vast right hand.
Pole of the people of love and help of mankind
Firm of resolve, of honorable determination.
Would that I knew, where is Ali? Would that
Someone were with me whom I love and confide in.
Shall I meet Mitkin while my life is fleeting?
And the departing caravans stir my longing.
With a kiss of the meadows there, I would see
Alleviation of my passion and my moaning.
O my masters, and the times are dejected,
Help me, for resolve is not reinforced.
And accept me and crown me with forgiveness,
For your love, O masters of the true faith, is my religion.
