هَجَمَ العَدُوُّ بِخَيْلِهِ وبِرَجْلِهِ

ورَمى ولكنْ شُلَّ باعاً ما رَمى

The foe attacked with his cavalry and infantry,

He shot his arrows but his shooting arm was paralyzed.

هذا حِمى الغَوثِ الرِّفاعيِّ الَّذي

ما زالَ يُدْعى في الحِمى حامي الحِمى

This is the protection of Rifa'i, the helper,

Who continues to be invoked as the protector of sanctuaries.
