1. رأت أطلال سلما بعد بعدٍ

    عيون نورها أطلال سلما

    بلذة ما رأت عما وعما

    إذا جمعت على الأسرار حكما

    Good sights please people's eyes

    When wisdom is gathered for secrets

  4. و يرق في الغوير أهاج منا

    هياماً سربل الألباب هما

    And the love stirs for the passionate one who is clad in robes of hearts' wisdom

    It hinted to the people of those regions

  5. أشار لأهل هاتيك النواحي

    وقد ملأ البعاد الركب سقما

    And the caravan had filled the distances with sickness

    By your life, O Houaidna, help us

  6. لعمرك يا حويدنا أغثنا

    بصوتك واعط هذى العيسر عزما

    With your voice and give this hardship resolve

    For us in Hajar and the land of Sellu

  7. لنا في حاجر و بأرض سلع

    مآرب بالتباعد لن تتما

    There are motives in the distance that will not be complete

    So bring us close to it, we will ransom you

  8. فقربنا لها نفديك إنا

    رأينا من شؤن البعد هضما

    We have seen from the state of distance indignity

    Let us shed tears with it, so the eyes will be generous to us and tear

  9. ودعنا نستسيل بها عيوناً

    تجود لنا العيون بها لتدمى

    May God protect its green plains

    And enliven its west side

  10. رعى الله البقاع الخضر منها

    وحيا الجانب الغربي ثما

    Plains that can revive the dead

    And its intimacy makes the silent stone dance

  11. بقاع قد تعيد الميت حيا

    ويرقص أنسها الحجر الأصما

    And neighborhoods clothed with the dress of beauty

    With it the beads of flowers were strung in order

  12. وأحياء كساها الحسن ثوبا

    به انتظمت عقود الزهر نظما

    We were deprived of it and it became far from us

    And one day bringing near the alive will be a bounty

  13. حرمناها وقد بعدت علينا

    ويوما يغد قرب الحي غنما

    May The Creator bring us closer to it

    And distance our distance generously and forbearingly

  14. عسى الباري يقرِّبنا إليها

    ويبعد بعدنا كرماً وحلما

    So we drink from the surging waters of lively

    Whose longing murmurs and does not silence

  15. فنروى من مياه فجاج حيٍّ

    يزمزمها الولوع وليس يظما

    And we witness in its expanses beauty

    And get drunk within those plains intoxicated

  16. ونشهد في مفاوزها جمالاً

    ونسكر ضمن تلك القاع شما

    And roam in its valleys and valleys

    In which the gardens of Jerusalem threw an arrow

  17. ونشطح من بواديها بوادٍ

    به القلت جنان القدس سهما

    Yearning to the home and its inhabitants

    And the heart fills us with worry and sorrow

  18. نهيم إلى الديار وساكنيها

    ويملأنا القلى هما وغما

    Without them the universe would be darkness

    And the gist of these rulings injustice

  19. ولولاهم لكان الكون عتماً

    ومجمل هذه الأحكام ظلما

    They came while ignorance had covered the expanses

    So the surging of the land bubbled with knowledge

  20. أتوا والجهل قد طمَّ البرايا

    فماج بهم فجاج الأرض علما

    And the darkness of the universes became light

    And the thickness of the nature of those in the universe became understanding

  21. وصارت ظلمةُ الأكوان نوراً

    وغلظةُ طبع من في الكون فهما

    And the earth has been filled with the secrets of Truth

    So days were not capable of concealing it

  22. وقد ملأ الورى أسرار حقٍّ

    فما اسطاعت لها الأيامُ كتما

    And they are the spirit of the souls of spirits

    They ascended in the highest world a star

  23. وهم لحقائق الأرواحٍ روحٌ

    علوا في العالم العلوي نجما
