قسماً بحبك وهو في دين الهوى

قسمٌ لمن عرف المقام عظيمُ

I swear by my love for you, though it contradicts devotion

A solemn oath for one who knows the worth of this station

ما شاقني لولاك منعرج اللوى

يوماً ولا هزَّ الفؤآد حطيم

Had it not been for you, the path of passion wouldn't have plagued me

Nor would my heart have been shattered into pieces

لكن مغانٍ مسَّ نعلك تربها

هي عند عبدك حقُّها التعظيم

But the soil touched by your shoes is blessed

To your servant it deserves utmost reverence
