We saw the branches of the myrtle bend over

For the dwellers of Hadbaa and Al-Ajar'a and Al-Ban

While we, for the one we love, are more deserving of yearning

And passion and the passion of love—what passion!

We incline towards the one who shook hearts, and his love

Sufficed us from wine, drink and tavern
