إِنّي أَنا عَنتَرَةَ الهَجينُ
فَجُّ الأَتانِ قَد عَلا الأَنينُ
I'm Antara the hot-tempered
My horse's neighs rise above the groans
يُحصَدُ فيهِ الكَفُّ وَالوَتينُ
مِن وَقعِ سَيفي سَقَطَ الجَنينُ
Hands and forearms are harvested
By my sword's blows, fetuses fall
عِندَكُمُ مِن ذَلِكَ اليَقينُ
عَبلَةُ قَومي تَرَكِ العُيونُ
You have certainty of that
My kinsfolk left their homes
فَيَشتَفي مِمّا بِهِ الحَزينُ
دارَت عَلى القَومِ رَحى المَنونِ
To find relief from their sorrow
The mill of death turned upon the people
