The fire of longing and separation burned me
After losing my home and children
My head turned white
After it had been intensely black
And I remembered Ebla when she came
To bid me farewell, grief and passion manifest
As she shed tears of separation's anxiety
Flowing with agony and vigil
I said: Cease your tears
Though my heart melted in sorrow, my agony increasing
Oh what an age that assailed me
With arrows that pierced my heart's core
Yet I'm like a sharpened sword which, when
More polished, triumphs on the day of battle
The turns of fate have seasoned me until
They set me on the path of integrity
I met heroes in every war
And defeated men in every valley
Leaving knights fallen by a stab
From a spear describing heads on the stake
And a sword I've owned since ancient
Days of Ad, from olden ages
And I conquered kings east and west
And surpassed peers on the day of contention
My patience for being apart from Ghazub waned
He who had been my asset and reliance
As did Oroba and Maysara my protector
When the steeds clash
Soon I will release them
From the hands of foes and the envious
