تَجلو بِأَخضَرَ مِن نَعمانَ ذا أُشُرٍ

كَعارِضَ البَرقِ لَم يَستَشرِبِ الحِبِرا

She reveals teeth fresher than the Arak of Nu'man, serrated, like a flash of lightning untouched by gloom.

For your utmost attainment is but to gaze upon a face whose brilliance almost touches the sight.

فَإِنَّ قَصرَكُما مِن ذاكَ أَن تَرَيا

وَجهاً يَكادُ سَناهُ يَلمِسُ البَصَرا

Her pastures were Al-Dahna and its slopes, and Al-Quff, appearing as scattered hills.

Or like two seekers of our camels that have strayed, such that you perceive no trace of our herds.

كانَت مَناجِعَها الدَهنا وَجانِبُها

وَالقُفُّ مِمّا تَراهُ فِرقَةً دَرَرا

أَو باغِيانِ لِبُعرانٍ لَنا رَفَضَت

كَي لا تُحِسّونَ مِن بُعرانِنا أَثَرا
