إجر النسيم إلى السمائم

وانفث رقاك على التمائم

The breeze blows to the thin clouds,

And scatters your mist on the talismans,

وأشر إلى أخوات كف

ك تسقنا وهي الغمائم

Pointing to the sisters of your palm,

Who give us water while they are clouds.

قل للرياح وللحيا

سوقا إلى تلك المشايم

Tell the winds and life,

Take me to those dwellings,

ولخافقات نوائب

تهدي الحمام إلى الحمائم

And to the beating misfortunes,

That guide the dove to the dovecotes.

حومي مسالمة فقد

صديت إلى الورد الحوائم

Circle around me peacefully, for I have

Come to the roses, the shelters.

مولاي دعوة مقعد

والدهر بين يديك قائم

My Master, my sitting prayer

And fate is standing before You.

لي حاجتان عظيمتا

ن وأنت أهل للعظائم

I have two great needs,

And You are worthy of greatness.

قلبي وهمي منهما

فارحمهما دام ودائم

My heart and my worries are among them

So have mercy on them as long as they last.

جرد لرفع شكايتي

عزماً يعض على الشكائم

I am determined to raise my complaint,

With determination that bites the brambles,

وعزيمة خطراتها

تطوي الطوى عن ضيف حاتم

And a willpower whose dangers

Fold over the guest of Hatem's generosity.

غرس الرجاء إلى متى

يبدي الثمار من الكمائم

How long will the tree of hope

Produce fruits from the palms?
