يا داعي الكرم المقيم بسندفا

I respond to the call of the pilgrims to Safa

O caller of generosity residing in Sandafa

جود تشرف ناظراه فزارني

كرماً ولم أك نحوه متشوفا

Your generosity overlooks its viewers, so you visited me

With generosity while I was not hoping for it

نزهته عن موعد يغدو الندى

بنجازه لي آملاً ومسوفا

I kept it away from the tryst where the dew flows

With fulfilling it for me, hopeful and awaiting

وافى كباردة الغمام إذا سرت

فتقدمت عن رعدها وتخلفا

It came like the coolness of the clouds when they move

So it advanced ahead of their thunder and lagged behind

قل لي فداك الأكرمون ولا غدت

طير المنى إلا ببابك وكفا

Say to me, may you be ransomed, the most generous

The birds of purpose only alight at your door and stop

أمن السماحة أن تبيت مقدماً

ثمن المدائح قبلها ومسلفا

Is it of generosity that you stay ahead

Of praises, accepting them before hearing them and paying in advance?

وكتبت تسأل في قبول مثوبة

منها ببابك منعماً ومشرفا

You wrote asking to accept rewarded

Through your door, granted and ennobled
