  1. Yours is God’s exalted Sanctuary, not ours—

    its broad valley, the Two Akhshabs, and Zamzam;

  2. and whatever the ravine of the Two Passes encloses on Mina’s side,

    and Jamʿ, and whatever the sacred curtain conceals.

  3. If no raiding troop falls upon you there at dawn,

    like a blow to a man’s nose, with blood following it—
