وَلَيسَ مِنَ الفَراغِ يَثُرنَ عَنّي
نَفاثاتٌ يَجيشُ بِها الجَنانُ
It is not from emptiness that there rise from me
outpourings with which the heart surges;
وَلَكِن مُهجَةٌ مُلِئَت فَفاضَت
وَضاقَ القَلبُ وَاِتَّسَعَ اللِسانُ
rather, a soul was filled and overflowed—
the heart grew constricted, and the tongue expanded.
