1. يا عاذِلانِ أَسَأتُما العَذلا

    لا مَرحَباً بِكُما وَلا أَهلا

    O you who blame, you have blamed unjustly,

    You are not welcome, nor greeted.

  2. أَعَذَلتُما مَن لَم يَمَلَّ هَوىً

    وَتَرَكتُما عَذلَ الَّذي مَلّا

    You blamed one whose love does not tire,

    And left blaming one who did tire.

  3. وَلَحَوتُما المَقتولَ مِن كَمَدٍ

    وَعَذَلتُما مَن طَرَّقَ القَتلا

    You sought the slain with pretense,

    And blamed the one who avoided murder.

  4. لَو أَنَّ غَيرَ دَمي ذَهَبتِ بِهِ

    لَم تُسأَلي قَوَداً وَلا عَقلا

    Had another's blood been shed by you,

    You'd not be asked for legal death payment or compensation.
