وَلَيلٍ تَمَزَّقَ عَنهُ النَسي
مُ وَاِستَلَبَ الجَوَّ غَرباً وَشَرقا
And a night from which forgetfulness fled,
And seized the sky, west and east,
وَنيلوفَرٍ فَتَّحَتهُ الرِياحُ
وَعانَقَهُ الماءُ صَفواً وَرَنقا
And a narcissus the winds opened,
And the water embraced, clear and slender.
تَخَيَّلُ أَطرافَهُ في الغَديرِ
أَلسِنَةَ النارِ حُمراً وَزُرقا
I imagined its tips in the pond
As tongues of fire, red and blue.
