1. اِشتَرِ العِزَّ بِما بي

    عَ فَما العِزُّ بِغالِ

    Purchase honor with what ever you own

    For honor is not expensive

  2. بِالقِصارِ الصُفرِ إِن شِئ

    تَ أَوِ السُمرِ الطِوالِ

    With short or long spears, if you wish

    Or with brown or white swords

  3. لَيسَ بِالمَغبونِ عَقلاً

    مَن شَرى عِزّاً بِمالِ

    He who buys honor with money

    Is not foolish in his mind

  4. إِنَّما يُدَّخَرُ الما

    لُ لِحاجاتِ الرِجالِ

    Money is saved

    For men's needs

  5. وَالفَتى مَن جَعَلَ الأَم

    والَ أَثمانَ المَعالي

    And the young man who makes principles
