أَسلَمتِني لأَذى الصُدودِ وَنِمتِ عَن

سَهَري وَلَيلي فيكِ لَيلُ سَليمِ

You left me to the harm of rejection, and slept

through my vigil and night for you is a safe night

نَدَمي نَديمي وَالفِراقُ مُرافِقي

وَالسُقمُ قِسمي وَالغَرامُ غَريمي

My regret is my companion, and separation accompanies me

And illness is my fate, and passion is my ruin

وَإِذا شَدا الشادي فَأَطرَبَ شَدوُهُ

عِندي فَوَجدي مُقعِدي وَمُقيمي

And when the singer sings zealously, his melody

transports me while my torment and grief remain

تُمسينَ مِن أَلَمِ الفِراقِ سَليمَةً

يا هَذِهِ وَأَبِيتُ غَيرَ سَليمِ

You spend the evening safe from the pain of separation
