When we behold Abu al-Fath's beautiful face

The spirits are filled with triumph and conquest

And the sun reveals its swords and its arrows

While its glances and spearpoints quiver

And if his soul inclines toward peace and truce

His glances refuse any leaning to peace and truce

How amazing is a Samaritan who cheats the sluggish

With loss while profiting with gain

And whose faith says "No touching" yet

He kills those he loves in jest in earnest

And when the ants of his cheek wandered

He substituted beans for the hearts of grain

When our eyes examined the water of his cheek

We drew the flame of fire in water with a ladle
