1. أُسامَةَ قَد سَمَوتَ عَلى البَرايا

    بِما أوتيتَ فيهِم مِن مَزايا

    Othman, you have transcended humanity

    With the virtues you were endowed

  2. فَأَنتَ أَجَلُّهُم قَدراً وَذِكراً

    أَجَل وَأَشَدُّهُم عَقلاً وَرايا

    You are the most esteemed and famed among them

    The wisest and most reasonable of them all

  3. وَأَجدَرُ أَن تَقولَ فَلا تُمارى

    أَنا اِبنُ جَلا وَطَلاعُ الثَنايا

    It is apt for you to say uncontended

    I am the son of glory and the rising of the stars

  4. لَكَ الطَعناتُ في الأَعداءِ شَزراً

    مُسابِقَةً إِلى القَومِ المَنايا

    The spears thrust into enemies recklessly

    Rushing them to their demise

  5. وَضَرباتٌ تَشيبُ لَها النَواصي

    عَظيماتٌ عَظيماتُ الرَزايا

    Blows that turn hair gray

    Tremendous, tremendous calamities

  6. وَوَقفاتٌ تَفِرُّ الأُسدُ مِنها

    كَما فَرَّت مِنَ الأُسدِ الرَذايا

    Stances that make even lions cower

    As lionesses fled from roaring lions

  7. وَبَيتٌ لا يُسامى في المَعالي

    لَك المِرباعُ مِنها وَالصَفايا

    A house unparalleled in the heights

    You own the squares and the lofty terraces

  8. وَفَضلٌ شاعَ في الدُنيا فَشَدَّت

    إِلَيهِ بَنوهُ أَكوارَ المَطايا

    Virtues spread in this world and so

    People grasped the tent pegs around you

  9. وجودٌ تَعجَزُ الأَوصافُ عَنهُ

    وَتَخجَلُ مِن عَطاياهُ العَطايا

    Generosity that descriptions fall short of

    And gifts feel ashamed of gifts

  10. وَنَظمٌ مِثلُ مَنظومِ اللآلي

    عَلى أَجيادِ عَذباتِ الثَنايا

    Poetry akin to bejeweled composition

    On steeds gentle of gait

  11. وَتَصنيفٌ كَزَهرِ الرَوضِ يُسقى

    بِنَجدٍ في الغَدايا وَالعَشايا

    Writings like flowers in a watered garden

    Nourished morning and eve with splendor

  12. وَعُمرٌ طالَ في كَسبِ المَعالي ال

    جِسامِ وَعافَ في الدُنيا الدَنايا

    A long life acquiring the heights

    While shunning the lowly worldly life

  13. حَمَدنا اللَهَ أَن عِشنا إِلى أَن

    رَأَينا مَن لَهُ هَذي السَجايا

    We praise God that we lived to

    Witness one with such feat

  14. تُعَظِّمُهُ المُلوكُ بِكُلِّ عَصرٍ

    كَأَنَّهُمُ لَهُ فيهِ رَعايا

    Kings of every age revere him

    As if they are his subjects

  15. فَلا زَلَّت بِهِ قَدَمٌ فَلَيسَت

    لَهُ قَدَمٌ تُخَطَّأُ في الخَطايا

    His steps never faltered

    And no missteps tarnish his stride
