1. Halt with the riding camels in the open grounds of Zabadani.

    Do not drive them harshly onward to ʿUsfān.

  2. How plentiful there, for pasture scouts and water-seekers, are

    Ṣuddā-like waters, when they seek pasture, and saʿdān!

  3. Those are the spring pastures—not al-Ghuwayr, nor the hills of

    Najd, nor Ḥazwā, nor al-ʿAlamān.

  4. Its waters are my wine, and the coolness of its breeze

    my solace; the plants of its gardens are my sweet basil.
