Thanks to King al-Ashraf, I have not
With the most noble king, I have
complained of pain from Time.
Never doubted the pain of fate,
Lord of blessings, lord of nations,
Master of favors, master of nations
of Arabs and of non-Arabs.
Of Arabs and non-Arabs alike,
Reviver of generosity through his bounty,
Revived by his generous nobility
ever the slayer of poverty.
Ever slaying misfortune,
He has honored whoever set a pen moving
The most generous of those who wield the pen
in his praise among those who composed verse.
In praise of him from poets,
O my fortune, awaken! Is it not
Oh my luck pay attention to the pain!
time? Is it not time? Is it not?
The pain, the pain is coming.
Musa is the vast, deep sea.
Musa is the turbulent sea
No one who sought the sea went thirsty.
That cannot be contained by one who aspires.
Shall I mention my need, or
Shall I mention the need or not?
is he of praiseworthy character enough for me?
It suffices me to have Mahmud of noble traits
His answer cures sickness,
His answer heals all disease
for he has said nothing but 'Yes.'
For he says nothing but "yes."
In his house the arbiter is sought,
In his abode, judgment is granted
and his gate is the gate of the sanctuary.
And his door is the door of the inviolable sanctuary.
No care has troubled the earthly life
He who visited him has never faced anxiety in his world
of anyone who visited him, nor has he felt regret.
And has never regretted.
May his banner ever remain victorious,
He remains the victor of the banner
as long as a landmark appears to travelers.
As long as the journey’s banner is raised.
