وَاِبنِ فَقيهٍ حَسَنِ الحالَة
أُمَيرِدٍ قَد قَبَضَ الحالَة
And a jurist’s son, in fine estate,
The son of a learned man, of good standing
A little beardless lad who has taken possession of that estate,
An Amirid who has grasped the situation
ذو عِمَّةٍ بورِكَ فيها لَهُ
تُطلِعُ مِنهُ البَدرَ في هالَة
Wearing a turban—may it be blessed for him—
Of an uncle blessed in it for him
That brings forth from him the full moon within a halo.
The full moon rises in an aura from it
