وَبِركَةٍ تُحمى بِأُسدٍ وَما
تَمنَعُنا الوِردَ إِذا جينا
And a pool guarded by lions, yet they do not
With blessings guarded by a lion though
bar us from the water when we come.
The roses would not stop us when we came
وَما رَأَينا أُسُداً قَبلَها
تَمُجُّ بِالماءِ ثَعابينا
And never before it have we seen lions
Before it we had never seen a lion
spouting serpents of water.
