To me, Jamal the Egyptian is nothing but
The Egyptian beauty to me is naught
Gold, the like of which is minted and spent.
But gold forged and shaped as they see fit.
His mother is Egypt, so she is known; but
Egypt is its mother, it is well known,
His father is unknown, not recognized.
But its father is obscure, his face unseen.
