O friend, stop by the bridge of Jisrin,
O friend, pass by the bridge of bridges
and do not stray from the gardens’ open expanse.
And do not deviate from the gardens' scents
Those gardens were adorned and grew radiant
Those gardens are adorned and bloomed
with fresh jasmine and wild roses.
With fresh jasmine and eglantine
Rise and pour me wine mixed with water,
Get up and make me a bright coffee
from Saydnaya and from Sarifin:
From Sidon and from Serafand
wine that brings joy and
A drink that brings joy and disperses
banishes sorrow from every grieving heart.
Sorrow from the heart of every sad one
I am the one who came to him who reproaches me for
I am the one who came and blames love
love, with words coupled with truth:
With words of utter truth
Do not reproach me for the one I am madly in love with;
Do not blame me for whom I pine for
you have your religion, and I have mine.
You have your religion and I have mine
And we all hope for salvation tomorrow,
And we all hope for salvation tomorrow
and God will save me from what I fear.
And God will save me from what I fear
