وَغَادَةٍ بِالحِسَابِ عَالِمَةٍ

لِذِهْنِها في الحِسَابِ تَسْدِيدُ

And Ghada is skilled in arithmetic

Her mind in calculations is astute

مَارَضِيَتْ مُذْ خَدمْتُها عَملي

لأَنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِيه تَجْوِيدُ

She has not been pleased with my work since I served her

For it lacks finesse

قُلْتُ لهَا فَاسْتَوْ فِيهِ فَابْتَسمَتْ

وَماسَ مِنها بِالعُجْبِ أُمْلُودُ

I told her to perfect it, so she smiled

And I was amazed by her gracious response
