وَكمْ ذُدْتُ آمالي وَقَدْ ذُبتُ خَجلةً

وإحسانُكَ الدَّاعِي لإفْراطِ إذْلالي

And how I have raised my hopes, though abashed

Your kindness invites my excessive humility

وَقالَتْ لنا بِالفَتحِ قالَ مَن اسمُهُ

سَعِيدٌ فَقُمْ نَغْنَمْ فَقُمتُ على فَالي

And she told us of victory, he whose name is

Sa'eed said "Arise, we shall gain!" So I arose in omens
