مَوْلايَ شَمْسَ الدِّينِ يَا مَن ضَوْؤُهُ
بِخِلافِ ضَوْءِ الشَمْسِ يَشْفي الأرمَدا
My lord Shams al-Din—O you whose radiance,
unlike the sun’s light, heals the sore-eyed—
وَكَّلْتُ عَيني بِالطَّرِيقِ لِمَوْعِدٍ
قَدَّمْتُهُ لازِلْتَ تُنَجِزُ مَوْعِدا
I charged my eye to watch the road for a meeting
I had arranged beforehand; may you ever keep an appointment.
وَلَقَدْ جَلَبْتَ لَها الضِّياءَ بِهِمَّةٍ
جَلَبَتْ لهَا مِن أَصْفَهانَ الإثْمِدا
Indeed, with noble resolve you brought my eye illumination;
you brought it ithmid kohl from Isfahan.
