أَرَتْني هَناً يَملأُ الرَّاحَتينِ

وَأُخفِي هَناً لي فَرْطَ الصِّغَرْ

She showed me here filling both my palms

And hid for me here my overflowing youth

وَظلَّتْ تَقولُ لأتْرابِها

يُريني السُّهَا وأُريهِ القَمَرْ

And she continued telling her friends

"Show him the stars and I will show him the moon"
