Her feet set out for God become purified

So her resolve succeeded and her returning

A caller to yearning for the sacred rites

The dust of it a cure for eyes with rheum

You rode the panic in every dark pass

As if its vapors were abundant bounty on your palms

It had veiled the face of the horizon as if

Its sides were joined and its clouds

As if the green of the darkness outshone its sky

And its shooting stars flow upon it

As if the castles of ships had extended its atmosphere

With a wing by which its eagle seeks the sky

So those ships of land cleave the emptiness

And no darkness unless its mirage appears

As if the Pleiades snatch prey from it

Its remoteness from it and estrangement saw goodness

I augured good when it was overflowing with landmarks

For the signs of bliss are its kohl

And the submerger of flags its wolf frightens

Its crow fears estrangement from it

The hider of traces from every traveler

Who marches with the heart of an army and fears it

As if its gloom did not travel in it are its stars

Nor the veil of its sun by day drawn

So you did not stop until you attained what you sought of tombs

And you were given good news this Yathrib and its dwellings
