1. وَمَا ضَرَّهُ شَنٌّ صَغِيرٌ وَقَد سَرَى

    إلى بَابِهِ مِن كُلِّ قَطْرٍ كَبيرُهُ

    No harm in petty slander if to his abode

    Ride, from each clime, the grandsires of its tribes;

  2. علَى صَهَواتِ الخَيْلِ مَرْبَاهُ مُذْنَشَا

    إذا رَبَّ طِفلاً مَهدُهُ وَسَرِيرُهُ

    His steeds are currycombed while the children's bed

    And couch bear all the weight of him they cherish.
