1. أَنمْتُ طَرْفي قَرِيراً مِنكَ في دَعَةٍ

    لِمَوْعِدٍ قَدْ كَفَاني شَرَّ أَعْدائي

    I rested my eyelids happily because of you in leisure

    For a promise that had spared me the evil of enemies

  2. وَقَدْ أَتَى ضَامِنُ الشَّخْتُورِ مُلْتَمساً

    إنجازَ وَعَدِكَ يا أَلفينِ مولائي

    And the guarantor of dignity came asking

    For the fulfillment of your promise, O thousands of my masters

  3. ومَنْزِلي حَفَّهُ بَحرانِ دُونَكُمُ

    وما ادَّعَيْتُ لَكُمْ مَشْياً على الماءِ

    And my dwelling is surrounded by two seas below you

    And I have not claimed that you walk on water
