وَقَائلٍ قالَ لي لَمَّا أَنْ رأَى قَلَقي

مِن انتِظارِي لآمالٍ تُمَنّينا

And a speaker said to me, when he saw my anxiety

From my waiting for hopes we wished for

عَواقِبُ الصَّبْرِ فِيما قالَ أَكثرُهُمْ

مَحمودَةٌ قُلْتُ أَخشَى أَنْ تُخرِّينا

The outcomes of patience, as most of them said

Are praiseworthy. I said, I fear they will disappoint us
