I almost decided to retire grieving on my birthday,
And live without people glorifying God,
And shed my blood in regret when days of celebration pass
Without any cheer.
And winds blew from slices of a neighboring wall,
Disturbing a lamp that was under the wind.
If not for Ibn Abd al-Zahir al-Fatih, who
Came to me humbly with open arms.
